About Us

Happy. Active. Unstoppable.

Since 2002, Virginia Techniques has been helping New River Valley kids grow stronger, gain confidence, and discover the joy of movement. Our experienced coaches, engaging programs, and supportive environment give children opportunities to develop skills, challenge themselves, and succeed both in and out of the gym.

Our Mission

Every child, their full potential

We create opportunities for kids to build skills, gain confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for movement through quality coaching and positive experiences.

Small coach-to-student ratios mean every child gets real attention: the help to learn a new skill, and the encouragement to go after the next goal.

  • 24+years coaching kids in the New River Valley
  • Small coach-to-student ratios for real individual attention
  • Competitive teams in USA Gymnastics' Development and Xcel programs

Parent questions

A leotard, or a t-shirt with shorts or leggings. Skip anything loose or baggy. Shoes and socks come off before the gym floor, long hair gets tied back, and jewelry stays home.

Yes. A $41 annual membership covers your whole immediate family and is due at first registration, then once a year. Members get special pricing on open gyms and invites to members-only events.

The first child pays full tuition and each additional family member gets 20% off. The discount doesn't apply to home school classes or tumbling groups.

No problem! Students can make up missed classes within three months of the absence, as long as they remain actively enrolled. One make-up per week is permitted in any available class that matches their skill level. Make-ups can be scheduled through the Parent Portal or by contacting our front desk. Make-up credits may also be used to attend an Open Gym.

Children who can look after themselves can stay without a parent as long as we have a current cell number on file. We don't supervise kids before or after class, so please pick up on time.

We don't follow Montgomery County school closings and usually stay open. If we do close, we email families and post it here. Morning decisions are made two hours before class; evening decisions by 3 pm.

Each spring, our annual show gives students the opportunity to showcase the skills they've learned and perform a special class routine for family and friends. Every gymnast receives a commemorative show t-shirt and trophy to celebrate their achievements!
