The Virginia Techniques Gymnastics team was established in July 2002 by dedicated coaches and parents who wanted to provide an opportunity for local gymnasts to develop personal fitness, goal setting, and team spirit through an advanced gymnastics curriculum and competitive team.  Throughout the first year, 17 gymnasts practiced in the Virginia Tech gymnastics room and competed throughout the state.  Our vision of providing outstanding gymnastics instruction throughout the New River Valley was quickly being realized but our team was rapidly outgrowing Virginia Tech’s gymnastics room.

 

In fall 2003, a private corporation was formed by several parents and coaches to open a new state-of-the-art gymnastics facility.  The Virginia Technique’s team moved into our current facility in March 2004.  With our new facility, outstanding instruction, and great reputation, our program expanded quickly serving more than 300 gymnasts by the end of 2004.

Governed by a 6-member Board of Directors comprised of parents and coaches, Virginia Techniques continues to be one of the fastest growing programs in the state.  We currently serve almost 500 athletes with preschool and recreational gymnastics, competitive gymnastics, all-star cheerleading, birthday parties, open gyms, field trips, and more!
